Oversees Electrical, Power Production,and Aircraft Arresting Systems in the Civil Engineering Department of theTurkey Spain Base Maintenance II Contract.Supervises personnel in the accomplishment of their respective duties.Operate, maintain, inspect, repair, overalyand logistically support electrical power production equipment, electricaldistribution equipmentand aircraftarresting systems

**MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:** _Pleaselist by order of priority and, if possible, provide the percentage of timespent on the activity all should equal 100%._

99. Ensure the maintenance, repair,inspection, and certification of aircraft arresting systems IAW AFI 32-1043,Engineering Technical Letters (ETL’s), USAFE Supplements and applicableTechnical Orders (TOs). Ensure systems are operational on a 24/7 basis. Providearresting system setup and certification within 20 minutes after notificationfrom Airfield Management. Ensure work on arresting systems is performed underthe supervision of arresting system task certified personnel. Schedule annualarresting system re-certification test engagement at least one month prior tothe certification expiration date.

Operate, maintain, inspect,repair, overhaul and logistically support electrical power production equipmentand associated systems IAW AFIs 32-1062, 32-1063, UFC 3-550-01, applicableT.O.s, and manufacturer’s manuals. Provide continuous regulated power to meetbase and mission requirements. Maintain a single line-wiring diagram of the coordinatedpower production systems. Operate and maintain the base power plant andemergency pumps in an efficient and cost-effective manner. Operate and maintainstand-by power units and /or emergency generators for facilities in accordancewith the facility priority list. Provide for temporary power to supportlighting, essential utilities, and critical communication equipment. Trainusers designated as “Emergency Generator Operators” and providewritten operating instructions. Maintain appropriate records and bench stocksupplies and parts as required. Ensure power is restored, as soon as possible.

Operate, maintain, inspect,repair, overhaul and logistically support electrical distribution equipment andassociated systems IAW AFIs, National Electric Code, local electric code,applicable NFPA standards, USAFE Supplements, US national safety codes AFJMANs,UFCs and local safety standards. Electrical systems include primary andsecondary distribution lines, substations, transformers, bus structures, distributionpanels, circuit breakers, fuses, grounds, grounding systems, lightningprotection, motor control centers, transfer switches, switching devices,capacitor banks, fire alarm systems, cathodic protection systems,street/exterior lighting, interior lighting, and emergency and exit lighting.Calibrate, maintain, and test large appliances and deep fat fryers installed asRPIE or RPSE (Real Property Similar Equipment) IAW manufacturer’s manuals andNFPA standards. Inspect, test, install, and maintain fire detection systems IAWAFI 32-2001, UFC 3-601-02 and procedures manuals to include fire detection headcleaning. Maintain a single line-wiring diagram of the electrical system andconduct system studies and analyses as needed. Maintain traffic control devicesincluding traffic signals, electrical wiring, automatic timers, and sensors, asrequired.


Dailyuse of computer, phone, multi-line and voicemail system, multi-function fax/scanner/copier/networkemail/printer and filing system.


TypicallyMonday thru Friday in an office / outdoor environment.Position may require moderate to heavylifting.


The physicalrequirements of the position include light lifting, walking, extended sittingor standing.


**Education/Certifications** : **_One year related experience may be substituted forone year of education, if degree is required._**

Associatesdegree in a related field is desired.

**Experience** :

Tenyears experience (5 of those 10 in supervision) in operation, maintenance,repair of power production, electrical distribution, and aircraft arrestingsystem. Three of the ten years experience shall be in the operation andmaintenance of prime power plants. Have knowledge of the National Electric Code

**Skills** :

+ Knowledge of the principles andpractices of electrical distribution..

Skilled in evaluating workperformance of technicians and ensuring work place safety.

Extensive facilities and utilitiesmaintenance experience.

Must be able to supervise andmanage the activities of multi-national and culturally diverse work force.

Possess knowledge of safety andenvironmental issues as they relate to power production, electrical, andaircraft arresting systems.

Be familiar with variousComputerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).

Prior military experience a plusbut not mandatory.
