By 2020, it is estimated that there will be 13B addressable smart home devices in the US and that the global smart home industry, which includes smart entertainment, smart environment (e.g., lighting, thermostats), and smart security will reach $58.7 billion (17% 5-year CAGR). 54% of US consumers are excited about smart home technology, yet only 6% of households have adopted it to date, highlighting the opportunity for growth. The vision for Smart Home Services is to tackle this segment by building a work-force of Amazon employees who are experts in smart home technology to deliver, install, and set up Alexa devices to create the Amazon smart home. Smart Home Services seeking a content developer who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and has a strong training and development background. As a content developer, you will be responsible for analyzing, designing and developing high quality training content for technical and non-technical learning programs for our team of field technicians. This role focuses on instructional design, curriculum development, and program management. This is not a training delivery role as it does not involve regular classroom delivery of training. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate effectively with technicians, manufacturers, subject matter experts (SMEs), and leadership to provide consulting and content development (technical training content as well as non-technical curriculum) Use project management tools and skills to manage medium to large scale content development projects Design and develop learning solutions and programs applying adult learning principles and systematic instructional design to create learning content that best fits the needs of the learner (includes video, online, classroom, virtual instructor-led training, and blended learning content). Contribute to the development and implementation of new learning models and content design templates. Leverage rapid, agile development techniques and processes to create content for a rapidly changing environment. Support process improvement efforts. Develop exercises, tutorials, job aids, assessments, and other methods of learning including social or game-based learning strategies, and multimedia based assets. Lead needs analyses and learning strategy development activities to improve individual and organizational performance through learning. Support and incorporate use of internal and external Knowledge Base repositories. Support and help drive knowledge centered support methodologies. Some travel may be required (up to 30%)
