The Solutions Architect will support the sale of Watson Health solutions to the Government Health and Human Services State & Local customer base, to include, Medicaid, Human Services, and other Social Program agencies and departments. The Solutions Architect works alongside Watson Health Client Executives and solutions sales teams to create and present customized solutions and roadmaps involving offerings from the Watson Health portfolio to meet our state and local customers’ unique business needs.

Creating a solution may include activities such as running workshops, client pre-sales meetings, secondary research, input from the Account Team, working with specialists, product managers, and other stakeholders. The Solutions Architect should possess excellent listening skills, interpersonal skills, and ability to solve complex problems, be a big-picture thinker, and be able to visualize the solution. The Architect should also be able to act as a trusted advisor to executive management and be able to bridge business and technology. With a clear and agreed-upon client vision, you will be responsible for designing the solution to realize the vision and possess the experience as an Architect from prior roles to bring that experience to support and transform Clients with Watson Health and IBM solutions in their environment.

As the Solutions Architect, you will be responsible for the overall architecture and design of the solution, which includes the creation of the initial detailed designs and working with Watson Health solution specialists, client executives, and the customer to refine and improve the solution, as needed.

**Essential Job Duties**

+ Design solutions to meet the business/technical objectives of the customer using the full range of the Watson Health portfolio, and other IBM technologies where applicable

+ Ability to think past the products and create solutions to meet the business/IT needs

+ Work with delivery team to map design into a product/services roadmap to help the customer to solve their objective

+ Effectively communicate solutions architecture to the customer, third parties and the project teams

+ Effectively communicate the role of each Watson Health offering included in the overall solution and the value that it provides to the customer

+ Lead development of technical content for written and oral proposals in response to state & local solicitations

+ Ensure that proposals are technically sound, deliverable, competitive and representative of market leadership in the application of technology to addressing business issues

+ Support sales efforts with delivery management and practice management teams

+ Provide feedback to Offering Management based on customer feedback

+ Participate in account relationship and issue management activities

+ Stay current with developing technologies, emerging landscape (including security threat landscape/competition), and predict the impact of changing requirements for your customer base.

**Required Technical and Professional Expertise**

+ Proven experience of creating and presenting complex solutions to potential customers during the pre-sales cycle

+ Experience in a solutions/enterprise architect capacity

+ Demonstrated understanding of information security policies, standards, industry best standards and frameworks (e.g., ISO 27K, NIST 800-53, FISMA, STIG)

+ Demonstrated knowledge of modern software development practices and technologies such as agile methodologies and DevOps

+ Excellent communication and presentation skills

**Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise**

+ Hands-on experience with IBM Offerings (e.g., InfoSphere, Db2, Cognos, Watson, and IBM Cloud)

+ 7+ Years’ experience in a solutions/enterprise architect capacity

+ Implementation experience in data warehousing (Netezza, IBM Integrated Analytics System, Oracle Exadata, Teradata), analytics (Cognos, Machine Learning, Python, R, Hadoop, spark), database (Db2, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server), NoSQL (MongoDB, HBase, Cassandra), or data migration and integration

+ Demonstrated industry leadership in the fields of Data Warehousing, Data Sciences, and Big Data processing

+ Deep understanding of data, application, server, and network security

+ Experience with Statistics, Machine Learning, and Predictive Modelling

+ Domain knowledge and expertise in one or more of the following areas:

+ Healthcare

+ Health & Human Services (HHS)
