**Your Role and Responsibilities**
The Network Engineer/ Data Center Architect is responsible for the network infrastructure that supports the scalability, availability, and performance of the IBM global network and connectivity services in our POPs and strategic data centers. This includes:
+ Architecture responsibilities for both our private data centers connectivity and integration with our public cloud production environments.
+ Responsible for defining and deploying a network architecture to support the goals of the CIO office and its global scope of applications with a focus on continuous automation, SDN and NFV evangelism, and generating operational efficiencies
+ Responsible for driving design commonality across all of the IBM global network while working closely with our managed network services provider to ensure optimal solutions are deployed.
+ Determine and develop architectural approaches and solutions for improving network reliability, availability, performance, and scalability for on-premise data center and cloud based applications
+ Design and deploy data center and POP infrastructures to support large complex enterprise applications in both private and public clouds
+ Provide level 4 support to application support engineers for infrastructure and systems troubleshooting.
+ Provide continuous improvements to system automation and management systems
+ Lead critical improvements to application deployment frameworks and processes.
+ Technical leadership and mentoring of more junior production operations staff.
+ Troubleshooting issues potentially involving any area of the network, systems or applications.
+ Work with technology partners on evaluating and implementing new technologies.
