Where will Amazon’s growth come from in the next year? What about over the next five? Which product lines are poised to quintuple in size? Are we investing enough in our infrastructure, or too much? The Forecasting team in the Supply Chain Optimization Technologies (SCOT) organization is dedicated to answering these questions using statistical methods. We develop cutting edge data pipelines, build accurate predictive models, and deploy automated software solutions to provide forecasting insights to business leaders at the most senior levels throughout the company. We apply advanced statistics, deep learning and machine learning techniques to improve forecast accuracy, while tackling cutting edge "big data " problems in storage and computation. We need a creative, smart and enthusiastic thought leader with a background in product innovation and analytics ready to take the lead for building the right products for forecasting for all kinds of Amazon businesses and products. We are building a new team and this is an opportunity for you to define the product vision for this space. We want to develop predictive models and provide business insights on seller behavior on the Amazon Consumer platform. We will build models to produce forecasts of unit sales and revenue by seller segments and drive adoption of these forecasts by various teams within Amazon for financial and operations planning. We will provide insights on the impact of seller selection, product selection and fees on the long-term growth of the business, and provide recommendations to drive future growth of the seller platform. As a Product Manager-Technical, you will work closely with a team of scientists as well as software engineers to build machine learning models. You will have the opportunity to learn how to effectively translate business problems into solutions leveraging cutting-edge Data Science techniques. The ability to collaborate with and earn trust from engineering and science stakeholders is critical to this role. A successful leader in this role will be able to deliver in an ambiguous and quick moving environment.
