**Job Summary** ** : **

This position would require to work on product design engineering and project management activities related to NPD, VAVE & other engineering projects and will be accountable for delivery meeting quality, cost and schedule.

**Responsibilities:** Responsibilities:

+ Understanding project requirements and work closely with cross functional teams across the globe for delivery of project responsibilities adhering to engineering standards & process.
+ Solving complex technical problems in a structured approach using engineering problem solving tools.
+ Mentor and guide team members, manage a team of engineers and ensure team’s project deliveries.
+ Develop competency in the team to handle various engineering projects.
+ Develop product development plans that include product cost and project cost and schedule estimating.
+ Understanding various task associated with different project phases plan, identify risk and develop mitigation plan for meeting QDC.
+ Prepare, participate and present project gate meetings, critical design reviews, and technical discussion with global cross functional team.
+ Develop concepts, convert to detail design, develop component specifications, select components or to work with suppliers for development of the same.
+ Manage projects following PLM process. Create and release of engineering documentation in PLM / PDM.
+ Co-ordinate with cross functional team to implement design changes.

**Qualifications:**

B E in Mechanical/Automobile Engineering with goodacademics with 8-12 years of experience in product design and development inautomobile industry

**Key Competencies:**

+ 8-12 years of experience in design and development automotive subsystems such as chassis, suspension, steering mechanism etc.
+ Good knowledge about material selection and heat treatment (both Ferrous and Non-Ferrous)
+ Prior experience in managing a team is added advantage.
+ Hands on experience in DFMEA and test plan development.
+ Exposure to prototyping and testing methods.
+ Good understanding of components design in sheet metal, casting & machining.
+ Good understanding of GD&T for design application considering manufacturing process & tooling limitations.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
+ Should have exposure to new product development process.
+ Exposure to FEA tools will be added advantage.
+ Knowledge about various automotive standards such as SAE, AIS etc.
