The team Streaming Telemetry enables unprecedented levels of visibility into the network and transforms network monitoring into a big-data problem. It opens up new capabilities like near realtime traffic engineering, fault detection/prediction and automated remediation. Service Provider Network Automation team’s mission is to harness the big data platforms and tools available today to transform network data into network intelligence and address key customer pain points by enabling Network Change automation and KPI monitoring. The rollout of 5G infrastructure by the SPs in a large scale would leverage this infrastructure. The Role The ideal candidate will play a key role on a next generation Service Provider Network Automation Infrastructure team, as a Software development manager, working in a startup like fast pace environment, developing Cisco’s SP Network Automation Infrastructure with high scalability, performance, openness/extensibility and quality. The successful candidate will have an opportunity to interact with various development teams across Cisco and drive the development features from concepts to reality with high quality. Additional responsibilities include feature development planning and scheduling, facilitating peer reviews, managing quality metrics and team building. Innovation, thinking outside the box and challenging the status quo are highly desired. Roles & Responsibilities This position requires collaboration with multiple Cisco Technology Groups working cross functionally with Product and Program Management, Engineering teams etc. The candidate should have proven hands-on experience developing software following software engineering methodology with Continuous integration/Deployment. PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS Strong Technical skills, excellent team player, excellent verbal and written communication skills, customer and quality focused experience, able to drive solution from product requirements, self-motivated with a “can-do” attitude and the ability to meet or beat schedule requirements with good track records. Minimum Qualifications 6 years of Software Development engineering experience 2 years of Software Development Leadership experience Strong Working knowledge of Unix/Linux platform Experience with RESTful APIs, HTML, XML, JSON encoding. Experience working with NoSQL databases Experience working with CI/CD tools like Git, Jenkins Desired skills Familiarity with HTML, CSS and Javascript Familiarity with Networking concepts Experience working with Virtualization technologies like VMware/Openstack, Docker Experience with massively scalable distributed systems and microservices infrastructure Prior experience developing a big data platform a plus.
