Striking the right balance between deep technical discussion with teams and light-touch but informative automation to understand the burn down of technical security debt sits at the core of our engagement model. Understanding our security debt and keeping it prioritized in the face of constant inflow from various sources is a key challenge. Similarly, pursuing effective collaboration with partners in Legal/Privacy, Risk Advisory Services, Physical Security, Trust and Safety, Marketing & PR, and other teams to ensure we have an integrated and coordinated view of risk to Adobe is critical. Job DescriptionTechnical Program Managers sit at the center of the engagement model mentioned above, and are key to our ability to keep Security debt prioritized and engineering teams focused on remediation. Some key roles TPMs play Influence the pace/rate at which Security debt is addressed by engineering teams Drive the regular reprioritization of backlog as new items emerge from PSIRT, pen tests, the SOC and Incident Handling teams, scanning, and other input mechanisms Understand and act to address roadblocks engineering teams encounter in their efforts to remediate Security gaps Partner with other Security peers to understand the nature of the Security gaps these peers include researchers/architects, security engineers, security champions in the engineering teams, vulnerability scanning teams, IT teams, DevOps teams, Enterprise Security teams, etc. Take a leadership role is articulating and driving plans around meta-level issues where solving once yields benefits across the landscape issues like Vulnerability Management, Problem Management, Security Training (high-level, belt-based training model), standardization of processes and tools, etc. Act as a key communication point between engineering teams and the CSO in a regular cadence to communicate gaps between plans to remediate Security debt and the actual ability to do so In short, this role requires the successful applicant to be an advocate for many people and teams to many people and teams. You sit at the intersection of many in-bound threads of work; this gives you a unified view of the As Is security landscape, and that allows you to understand what needs to be done, why its getting or not getting done, what help teams need to break through logjams, and which relationships are required to make it all happen. You are a senior individual contributor who has strong problem-solving skills excellent communication skills strong technical engineering background and skills the ability to engage with and influence people at all levels the ability to interface and coordinate with many teams simultaneously an ability to work effectively in fluid environments a strong interest in evaluating processes to see where changes can be made, coupled with a strong preference to do the lightest-weight changes possible (even if they add up to something big at the end) a demonstrated ability to work effectively with highly technical engineering teams, with a track record of helping them deliver against a backlog an interest in and understanding of Security issues (you stay current with whats going on in the world related to Security) an interest in diving deeply (over time) into Adobes services, applications, and infrastructure to better partner with teams on the design and implementation of security asks Minimum Requirements for Position BS or Advanced Degree in an engineering or other technical field (computer science, cryptography, mathematics, etc.) or equivalent (to be assessed by hiring manager and hiring committee) 10 years of experience in an engineering or related field Experience on more or more technical platforms, with Cloud experience (Azure or AWS) strongly desired Experience influencing engineering teams and driving them via their development cycle to deliver Security (or other) non-feature improvement/enhancement Some Additional thoughts Although you will be an IC, you will be working with many teams of all sizes across Adobes products and services universe. You will need to be able to prioritize your own engagements (in collaboration with senior management), and keep up-to-date on many simultaneous initiatives, all of which will need some level of engagement. You will need to demonstrate mature judgment when helping teams make engineering choices, so being aware of their constraints and capabilities will be critical. You may have many opportunities to expand your technical product conversations beyond your engineering partners to customers and other third parties (at the request of senior management or marketing/PR), so having and being able to demonstrate knowledge of industry norms and broad perspective on customer issues and other 3rd-party solutions is important. You might be asked to participate in and act as a representative to standards bodies, consortiums, etc. Finally, you will be asked to help drive Adobe-wide standardization of processes and procedures, sometimes as the leader, sometimes as a participant in a broader coalition of teams, but understanding how to define, develop, and innovate team processes is critical.
