Skill: manufacturing , action , 3m , cost reduction , documentation , process improvement , planning , productivity improvement , manufacturing operations , root cause , work management , production line; Exp: 10-12 years; This position shall be responsible for driving a culture of continuous improvement and creating awareness on quality processes, QBM tools and way of working and enhancing the competencies of the entire work force in this respect. The position is also responsible for guiding, supporting and coaching the operations team where required in consultation with the Operations head in problem identification and solution finding through use of various tools and techniques as prescribed by the QBM approach to work. Improving skill & competencies Plan for carrying out management diagnostics of manufacturing operations & identify improvement opportunities Play active supporting role to promote manufacturing excellence Facilitate annual planning in QBM way Develop and implement an annual Improvement Plan for the Plant in conjunction with the Plant Head and the Manufacturing Head supporting continuous improvement, quality system and cost out opportunities Ensure clarity on RRA (Roles, Responsibilities, and Accountabilities) of owners of various processes across the organization, in terms of goals and operational objectives to be achieved Support the Operations Head in analysing key operational metrics related to both the Balanced Scorecard and customer systems for the Plant and perform periodical reviews to evaluate results and establish action plans to close the gaps at an operational level Participate with the Plant Head, Master Coach, Coaches Quality team and Production team in planning the implementation of TPM, 5S, SMED, Visual Management and Root Cause Problem Solving in the manufacturing processes to ensure productivity improvement Mentor and coach plant leadership on adoption of continuous improvement approaches both in manufacturing and management Act as a catalyst for change and improve the performance and quality by initiating new processes or developing the existing processes Plan along with the HR team and the business heads, the annual training budget for each department in manufacturing function Productivity Improvement Support manufacturing operations in improving manufacturing value stream through losses elimination and promoting good work environment through QBM tools Facilitate problem solving teams for use of various tools like QC SPARSH circle or QIPs etc. Establish daily work management across manufacturing and other related processes / teams Work together with the operation head to drive Value Adding initiatives in the Plant by using Kaizen, Visual management, Quality Circle etc. Support the operations team in driving a defect free supply to customer by the application of POKA-YOKE on all machines for mistake proofing, MSA, PFMEA, techniques Work towards continuous improvement by taking up continuous improvement/ best practice projects in CFTs to identify key areas and action on them repeat Assessment and Audits Implement 5S and regular audit plan across the plant Recommend to the Production department on the quality parameters to ensure that the quality standards are adhered to Conduct regular Assessments at the Plant to monitor progress and identify best practices within the division on 5s parameters, SPARSH circle and machine implementation etc. Share those best practices with other Plants and the Corporate for lateral deployment Support and facilitate improvements by identifying issues, solutions and working with the teams in consultation with Operations head Training Train the senior leadership at the Plant on the established steps in TPM and coach individuals, teams, and departments regarding steps involved in the same and act as the primary resource to all departments Create awareness about structured problem solving and facilitate solving of major cost and quality problems Design and develop training and development programs based on the organizations needs Identify core competencies of workforce and deploy competency mapping in the company with the help of a skill matrix for junior levels Train and coach individuals and teams in appropriate use of Process Improvement and Design methodologies and tools Review Best Practices and share with the senior team at the Plant for the defined area Ensure timely SPARSH and QBM trainings are conducted in a timely and efficient manner Documentation & Analysis Be actively involved in publishing Improvement MIS & communication periodically Act as custodian for QIP and Kaizen Sheets at factory level Measure the ROI (cost savings) of trainings and various improvement initiatives to show tangible benefits Analyse performance indicators, trends and information from the daily processes and take necessary actions where appropriate in discussion with Plant head Conduct the non-achieving parameter analysis and provide improvement suggestions Prepare and Review for the way ahead project and analysis Perform a detailed analysis on the reports generated and present it to the senior team at the plant through presentation Review why – why analysis for identification of solutions in production problems Review plan v/s actual reports for targets achieved for all divisions in department Review SPARSH score analysis for all divisions in department Review and document all audit scores Support and review Demming diagnosis documentation Improvement Projects Implement concept of shop-floor uplifting by improving 5S and eliminating 3 Ms (Muri, Mura and Mudas) Identify opportunities for improvement towards flexibility and leanness using technique of Value Stream Mapping Drive and lead improvement projects like SARSH, SPC, Identification of unsafe conditions etc. in the respective division Initiate projects and initiatives under Total Productivity Management aimed at enhancing overall productivity, quality and reduction in cost Implement initiatives on continuous improvement like Kaizen, Cross Functional Teams, Quality Circles, etc. Offer training programs for Quality tools like CPA, PA, FMEA, MPS, TS, etc. to employees Team and Relationship Management Create awareness about QBM including 5S, 3M, AM and process orientation to the team Provide ongoing coaching and guidance to the team members and ensure they have the relevant skills to deliver training at the highest level Set targets for the team, and monitor their performance against the targets & provide regular and ongoing feedback for team Identify the training needs for the department employees and ensure provisioning of the training to the team in liaison with HR Resolve the issues within the team members and ensure a positive work environment Education and Experience Required Education B.E./ B-Tech Preferably MBA in Operations with relevant work experience Experience 10 – 12 years
