This role is for a new GKN Fokker Elmo Plant to be set up in the Phulgaon area of Pune. GKN Fokker Elmo designs and manufactures wire harnesses for the Aerospace and defense sector. This will be a key role during the set up and further development of the plant. Substantial growth of the plant is expected in the first three years. Growth towards leadership and management positions is envisaged for key startup personnel Key Responsibilities With the support of global SCM and the FE-IN set-up project team, the Planning and Control Engineer of FE-IN takes below responsibility – To prepare necessary detailed shop floor production plan based on customer purchase orders, taking into account the availability of material, required man-hours, tooling and requested delivery dates – To generate mid-and long term planning overviews that facilitate timely availability of the necessary resources – To plan realistic lead times and the required man-hours for each product to be manufactured, taking into account the relevant efficiency and utilization figures. – To monitor production progress and where appropriate, adjust / fine-tune/ update the shopfloor plan in consultation with the Production Team Leader(s) involved (caused by technical issues, changes, material shortages, or any other disturbance on production flow) – To immediately report to the relevant functions in case the agreed readiness date cannot be met (in close consultation with Fokker Elmo Global Planning) – To provide production delivery plans to related functions such as Warehouse and Import&Export – To monitor timely availability of finished products – To generate mid-long term Personnel/ Planning overviews – To prepare clear reports for the related functions Qualification and Skills Formal Qualifications Essential – Degree or Diploma preferably in Engineering or Business Administration – 3-5 years of production planning experience, preferably in (multi site) manufacturing environment – Knowledge of production planning methods and scheduling principles – Knowledge of logistic principles and processes, including ERP system – Ability to communicate, formulate and report in a clear, understandable method Desirable A SCM background in Auto or Aerospace Industy 5 years experience would make a stronger candidate Specific Functional Competencies, Knowledge and Skills Required Essential – Ability to plan and organize accurately effectively determine goals, priorities and required actions – Co-operative attitude , flexible and active work approach able to maintain good personal relations with all parties involved. – Analytical ability approaches a situation from a broad perspective, recognises important information, and able to distinguish between primary issues and secondary issues in a logical way. – Resultoriented – With potential leadership in line with our values Desirable Below special skill or experience should be checked in interview – Training history on Supply Chain Management Travel Requirements Limited traveling, however during the set up of the facility willing to travel to China/Turkey/The Netherlands for a period of three months, with intermediate trips home About Us GKN is a global engineering business.
