The Finance function is a dynamic organization that plays a critical role, particularly as increasing regulatory and capital requirements change the way we do business. Planning Analysis (PA), in addition to CFO teams, Controllers, Business Managers and Project management, make up the majority of the Global Finance team.
Global Finance India (GFI) is located in India and is part of JPMorgan’s offshore center (Global Service Center). The team supports Finance Operations, Controllers, Planning Analysis and Business Sales support. The teams in India are all aligned to their respective business finance teams and the sales business teams they support. Locally the teams are managed under a common governance and oversight framework.
The GFI Application Development (AD) team is involved in the design, development, maintenance, migration and support of various VBA based Excel Tools and MS Access Databases in Global Finance India. The team also builds technical solutions on Python, VB/ASP .net and ETL tools.
GFI AD team works closely with the Finance Operations teams and various Finance Support Teams to increase process efficiencies and control by providing error-free results with minimum user intervention through automation.
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated technical business analyst for the GFI AD team. The successful candidate must have excellent analytical and problem solving skills. The role involves working directly with the business users and understanding the business requirements and be able to translate them into the software requirements specifications, for the AD team to design and develop. The candidate will partner with both AD team and business to bridge any gaps or conflict.
The candidate should be open to working in shifts (up to 10pm IST). As per company policies, transport drops will be provided if the candidate is working in a late shift.
Applying critical thinking to troubleshoot issues, proactively identify and develop new ideas / innovations that will add value to the business and technology team.
Strong knowledge of database and data management experience.
Ability to interpret system / business requirements and prepare specifications and design documents.
Act as a link between the business stakeholders and Technology during the design, build, test and other implementation phases.
Must be able to explain technical detail and provide guidance to internal stakeholders.
Proven program leadership and strategic thinking is required.
Strong analytical and presentation skills. Proven ability to quickly learn the business, the application and adapt to ever changing priorities.
Ability to analyze large data sets, summarize findings and ultimately recommend feasible solutions.
Ability to build relationships across international teams.
Must have Bachelor’s degree or above, in related stream of education from an accredited college/university.
Strong Microsoft office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Excellent communicator (written and verbal) with strong interpersonal skills.
Scrum knowledge or certification is preferred.
Technical (Basic Knowledge):
Basic VBA Programming.
MS Access Database Concepts (2013).
MS Excel Macros MS Access Macros (2013).
SQL (Structured Query Language)
Basic working knowledge of SharePoint
Process (Must Have Skills):
Experience in Scrum as product owner, responsible for creating product backlog, refining backlog.
Experience in creation of project charters, software requirement specification, test plan, test cases and other project critical documents.
Experience in doing user trainings and driving user acceptance testing.
Be able to prioritize and manage users’ expectations.
Good analysis skills in order to aid in trouble shooting and problem solving.
Good testing principles as well as good defect management skills.
Effective verbal and written communication skills with a sound knowledge of email ethics.
Prior experience in a similar role to support the Financial Services industry.
6+ years of relevant technical business analyst experience required!|
