Department Overview Capital Markets Technology is within the Enterprise Information Technology business and the portfolio consists of Technology solutions for Primary Markets /Investment Banking/GIB Municipal Products/Asset Backed Finance, various Secondary Markets Trading verticals (like Equities, Fixed Income, and Commodities etc.) and Institutional Investor Services (like Prime Brokerage, Futures Commission Merchant Services). About the Role The role will be responsible in providing exceptions research support to product support lines, finance, controls, regulatory and external regulatory agencies by performing due diligence ensuring data integrity with books and records and timely remediation for exceptions for products transacted in Wells Fargo Securities. Products include all equity and fixed income products. Team partners to build infrastructure supporting new business initiatives and process changes for existing work flows to create processing efficiencies. Responsibilities Balancing and documenting the aging of open payable balances in BPS (Broadridge Processing System) for a designated BPS account. Run queries in MS Access database (created by technology partners) to refresh data received from Broadridge used in reports for researching out of balance conditions and as the basis for reconciliations in other areas others. Retrieval of Loan Net balance totals in files from Documentum application and access the pre-defined Broadridge GL accounts representing the balance changes resulting from security lending activity Research rejects on unmapped accounts by reviewing activity to help identify who to help resolve unmapped account #. Identify transaction activity in the WF operational non-dollar cash GL control accounts that need to be reclassified to LOBs. Analyze postings in the operations cash account to determine and assign proper ownership and accountability to remediate the balance in the operational cash account. Reconciles cash and positions between (1) Impact is used for fixed Income products (treasury and money market security types) and (2) BPS (Broadridge Processing System) is used for Equity (stocks and options) product types. Market Skills and Certifications Candidates must be college graduates, completing a 4-year degree preferably in Accounting Must have at least 2 years of experience in accounting preferably in investment accounting serving banking and financial entities Must be proficient in creating reports in Excel, has the ability to maximize use of formulas and functions to streamline reporting needs. Basic understanding of macros programming using VBA/Access is highly preferred. Familiarity in portfolio or securities accounting such as securities, commodities, investment funds, derivatives and especially foreign exchange Must have in-depth background in compiling and analyzing financial information in preparing entries to accounts, such as general ledgers and document business transactions.
