Reports To: Field Engineer Lead
Field Engineer position to provide field support for Exterran’s Middle East and Africa region. Position will be based in the Exterran Hamriyah office and will provide support for both external and internal customers in the form of troubleshooting, data gathering, start up assistance, warranty support, and identification of improvement opportunities. This position will support the Commissioning, Operations, Service Engineering, and New Product Development groups. The MEA Field Engineer will interact and use synergy with Field Engineers of other regions (NAM, LATAM and APAC Field Engineers).
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
+ Responsible for establishing company commissioning / start-up standards and procedures.
+ Participate in project reviews and safety studies as required to ensure design meets company standards for operability and maintainability.
+ Review of engineering documents (Cause and Effect, P&ID’s, Control Philosophy, etc.) to ensure design meets company standards for operability and maintainability.
+ Provides technical training to Operations and Commissioning Team on company standards and procedures.
+ May require travel to other regions to support regional Field Engineer/Service Technician in product troubleshooting.
Service Engineering support
+ Responsible for regional field support based on issues identified by Commissioning Team and Service Technicians.
+ Performs information gathering to support troubleshooting by centralized Service Engineering Team.
+ Works with Service Engineering Team to assist in finding cost effective solution to warranty claims.
+ Responsible for field support/information gathering to support engineering of aftermarket products and/or debottlenecking studies.
+ Support field setup of remote monitoring hardware and asset management.
+ Provides point of contact between Service Technicians and centralized Service Engineering Team.
New Product Development support
+ Works with New Product Development team to ensure designs incorporate any field solutions established by Service Engineering Team.
+ Responsible for gathering field data as part of standard product performance benchmarking.
+ Review of engineering documents and 3D models to provide feedback on operability and maintainability of standard products.
+ Works with Service Technicians to identify areas of improvement with standard products based on startup/commissioning experience and customer feedback.
