The Horizon DaaS operations team is deploying the Horizon Air DaaS Platform enabling enterprises to consume desktops from the cloud in an as-a-service model. A successful candidate must be a highly motivated individual who is willing to take on challenging initiatives and is capable of working both independently and with others as a team. This position is located in Bangalore, India Responsibilities – Work with customers, and VMware services team to help customers understand requirements for deploying the Horizon DaaS solution – Perform the configuration in the vCloud Air and Global Partner infrastructures as well as within the DaaS Service portal to deploy new customers – Work with customers on turning up site to site VPNs as well as initial training of using the Horizon DaaS Platform – Document processes and procedures with an eye towards streamlining Horizon DaaS operations through custom-built scripts or the development of new APIs – Troubleshoot issues technical issues related to the Horizon Air DaaS Platform – Provide feedback to Product Management on new features and functionality required by our customers – Support customers with Active Directory, or Windows Desktop problems that arise in the Horizon DaaS offering – This will support a 7×24 mission critical cloud hosting service and has on-call responsibilities and varying work shifts. Required Qualifications – A minimum of 5 years of progressive systems engineering/administration experience in an operations environment. – BS in Computer Science or other related technical degree – Experience managing Linux and Windows preferably system administration skill level – Experience configuring and troubleshooting IPSEC VPNs, VRF, DNS, L2 VLANS – Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP and UDP protocols – Experience managing and troubleshooting Active Directory – Experience with, and understanding of, relational database systems such as Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL (preferably able to write simple SQL commands) – Expertise with server virtualization such as vSphere/ESX, KVM, Hyper-V, and XenServer – Effective communicator experienced working directly with customers Desired Qualifications – Experience with desktop virtualization products such as Citrix XenDesktop/XenApp, VMware View, and Microsoft RDS – Experience managing end-user desktops and applications (Win 7, Win Server, patching, anti-virus etc) – Experience installing, managing and administering vSAN – Experience in process automation and documentation – Experience with vShield Edge gateway or OpenSwan networking devices – Scripting Experience (bash, Perl, PHP, Python, PowerShell) – Experience with Puppet of Chef. – Experience in a fast paced 7×24 hosting environment
