As a leader in the aerospace industry, we have a number of exciting positions available right now, including an Environmental Health & Safety Manager in our Interior Systems business located in Winston-Salem, NC. JOB SUMMARY The Environmental Health & Safety manager oversees and monitors all aspects of Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) regulatory compliance for the Oak Plaza facility within Seating New Equipment. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Ensures the plant is in compliance with all State, Federal, and local safety regulations and maintains and updates policies and recordkeeping requirements including OSHA log documentation and posting. Cultivates a team based EHS culture and provide associated documentation supporting a strong EHS program. Serves as a resource and facilitator to the Safety Committee, Plant Emergency Response Team, and other teams which comprise the safety and risk management process. Ensures meeting minutes are maintained as needed. Provides leadership in the development of Plant and Corporate EHS goals and Monthly Safety statistics and reports plant results in a timely manner. Manages the workers compensation claims process; maintain relationship with occupational injury physicians office. Identifies common safety/health hazards inherent in the organization’s operations, and establishes guidelines for protection from those hazards Identifies applicable externally imposed safety/health standards and establishes procedures for their implementation Investigates and establishes standards for protective equipment Personally investigates major accidents or problem areas and recommends future preventive measures Coordinates with Safety Committee and Management on plant Safety promotions, and Contractor Safety Program Develops or outsources and coordinates all of the training associated with health, safety, wellness, technical, apprenticeship, environmental and cultural needs of the Winston-Salem Group Members. Coordinates new hire, existing and contractor employee training. Maintains training calendar and register. Coordinates all accident and near miss investigations, completes necessary paperwork, communicates findings and manages corrective actions with Management, Safety Committee and Group Members. Coordinates Environmental Duties including; SWPPP (Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan), Internal/External Environmental Audits, Hazardous Waste Interacts with insurance carrier, Medical Providers, Outside Contractors, and Training Resources. Ensures DOT compliance for Shipping Operators. Works with compliance officers and auditors as needed. Works, as a trusted professional, with highly confidential information. Maintains professional attitude and appearance. Team oriented. Ability to work through consensus without compromising the safety and well-being of employees, contractors, or visitors. Ability to handle multiple projects. Works independently. Identification of key loss trends and implementation of continuous improvement action plans Accountable for all Lock-Out-Tag-Out, Ergonomic, Key Concepts of Safety, Job Safety Analysis, Powered Industrial Truck, Chemical/Hazardous Material Handling, Electrical Safety, Confined Space Entry, and Elevated work program compliance Future preventive measures. Conducts internal audits to ensure compliance with all EH&S policies and programs. Ensures site is in compliance with relevant requirements, and that records are maintained regarding all compliance activities Acts in an advisory role for the Oak Plaza site providing risk management consultation to site leadership on all ES&H issues Serves as site lead for OHSAS Certification and Audits (HSE) MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Bachelors degree (B.A.) from four-year College or university; and a minimum of five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
