Specifically, this role will be a key contributor to the expansion of Xylems current India Technology Center. Reporting to the Manager Embedded Software and Firmware (Bangalore), this critical role will support Xylem AWS in moving up the technology curve, from component supplier to a systems supplier, providing integrated products and intelligent solution offerings. The desired candidate conducts/participates in embedded firmware development for research, design, development, testing and utilization of information processing hardware and/or electrical components, mechanisms, materials, circuitry, processes, and as a minor subset, packaging and cabinetry, for processors, storage and/or data communications. A) List the essential functions and major activities in order of their importance. Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs large complex application software by using current high level programming languages (C, C , Visual Basic, Automation Studio etc.) Analyzes, enhances, develops, installs, tests and modifies complex applications of current products using high level languages. May also include development of Web-Based applications. Conducts systems analysis and programming activities related to the development, maintenance, and/or installation of computer programs to support proprietary application systems Perform designing, developing and implementing complex hardware solutions while adhering to electronics development methodologies (ex. AGILE, SCRUM, etc.) and manufacturing capabilities (ex. component selection and sizing) Complete all engineering documentation to support a design effort Ensures software standards and regulatory requirements are met Part 2 Describe the Person A) Minimum professional and educational background desired (include years of experience) 5-8 Years of embedded hardware and firmware development with strong firmware emphasis Use of recognized best practice firmware/software development methodologies and processes Prototype build and test, first manufactured parts validation and support through to product release Bachelor Degree in Electronic/Electrical Engineering or equivalent curricula Excellent Communication skills with strong English both written and spoken B) Describe the most important skills required of the individual Experience in motor control software and VFD (Variable Frequency Drive) development is must. Experience in Firmware development using C, C , C# is must. Experience with signal processing, communication protocols are required (Modbus, BACnet,TCP/IP and wireless e.g., Zigbee etc.) Experience in design and troubleshooting Analog, Digital, embedded processor designs is required Solid in utilizing the Microsoft Office suite of tools Knowledge of LabVIEW language (or any other software programming language) and experience with electronic simulation software would constitute a plus Previous experience in electromechanical industry would be preferred C) Describe the most important competencies required of the individual Adaptive learner- Learns quickly; applying knowledge from one domain to another, asking questions, following procedures but also challenging set ways of doing things when appropriate.
