Skill: iso , hmi , manufacturing , industrial automation , instrumentation , field service , planning; Exp: 5-8 years; Role Summary The job has the responsibility for designing Locomotive Train Control Systems and HMI, that meet the customer requirements, cost & reliability expectations. It includes defining system level requirements, preparing test plans & performing system validation Essential Responsibilities To define and document all aspects of Train control systems for Locomotives like airbrakes, Cab signal equipment, Event Recorders and HMI. Lead / Participate in product conceptual designs and concept trade off analysis. Interact with locomotive subystems to define and document system requirements and interfaces. Work with vendors and sourcing to define technical requirements for the product. Support Proposals, controls, software, simulator , manufacturing, test and field service groups Develop Validation plans and perform system validation. Provide designs that are robust, that meet cost and reliability targets. Lead Design reviews; make presentation and status reports to Senior Management. Must be willing to work on high horsepower and high voltage equipment Work with cross-functional & global teams to meet project objectives Qualifications/Requirements Bachelor’s /Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronics/Instrumentation Engg. 2 to 8 years experience in System engineering and specification generation or System Integration. Experience in locomotive train control and or airbrake systems or HMI or Industrial automation. Experience with the design, operation and evaluation of control or communication systems Proven analytical, interpersonal, communication, organization, planning and leadership skills. Process focus and continuous improvement orientation. Desired Characteristics 5 years’ experience in designing Locomotive Systems, preferably in GE Transportation Experience in working in cross-functional environment. Having knowledge of locomotive control systems. Familiar with ISO- 9001 and CMM standards Working knowledge of statistical analysis, or Six Sigma Greenbelt certified preferred. Knowledge and experience with a standard communication networks and Protocols .(i.e. Ethernet, Arcnet, CAN, 802.3, 802.11) Experience with signal processing, and interfacing with s/w for real time embedded control systems.
