In this role, you will utilize experience and all the expertise/ resources available at GE to solve problems and take business to EHS excellence. The primary responsibility if this role is at GEEM IP site at Electronic city, Bangalore. Essential Responsibilities Active daily presence in the Shop floor to ensure workers safety and EHS compliance. Develop and maintain EHS programs consistent with Frameworks and maintain Gensuite EHS tools Manage Injury & Illness cases, Collection, analysis, correction plan implementation and reporting of all concerns, first aids and possible accident & develop a program for reduction of injury rate Develop an audit & inspection program, ensure audit findings identified and closed within business timeframe Conduct/organize EHS training for employees/ contractors and maintain web-based training management tool Responsible for waste management, include hazardous waste disposal, and contractor EHS performance management Contact regulatory agencies as needed, support in conforming to Environment & Labor Laws Understand regulatory changes and trends for implementation and forecast of business impacts. Proactively market and share EHS best practices with the employees / Customers and Suppliers. Develop and implement EHS strategy to lead the GE IP site to world class EHS performance. Create EHS programs, responsive to the external environment; participate in cross-functional business and cultural development. Provide leadership, support and technical guidance to the GE IP leadership team, to assure programs are developed and effectively implemented providing safe and healthy working environments for employees across the site, and to protect the environment from the adverse effects of environmental contaminates and hazardous wastes. Improve existing EHS programs to align with GE programs and initiatives, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations. Actively contribute to the direction and content of GEs Corporate EHS programs. Ensure that the EHS Culture is adopted by all employees on site. Responsible for the EHS documentation system and ensuring it is up to date and in good order Qualifications/Requirements B.E Environmental Engineering Minimum 2-4 years experience in EHS management systems Experience in international organization- Advantage Safety certifications would add extra advantages Desired Characteristics Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of management and/or field location personnel where required Strong organizational, analytical, problem solving, multi-tasking and decision-making skills Excellent leadership, team building and influencing skills Thorough understanding of safety regulations and regulatory process; the ability to research, analyses, interpret and implement HSE regulations, standards, and best practices Confident in HSE Management Systems and Auditing About Us GE (NYSEGE) drives the world forward by tackling its biggest challenges.
