Data Operations Background on the Team The Payments Utility team supports firm-wide payment authorization and exception management of free cash payment across Business Unit and products class including Clearing, Collateral, Commodities, Coupon and Dividends, Equity OTC Derivatives, Fixed Income OTC Derivatives, FX, PWM, Structured Products and Syndicates. The Payment Utility is a centralized team which operates in a controlled environment with standardized processes in place. All payments are reviewed within the system and are prioritized by order of urgency and relevant currency cut off time. All payments pass through a rigorous due diligence checks that are performed in order to validate the legitimacy of the payments prior to authorization. Post authorization, the team is also responsible for monitoring all work exceptions and ensures validation and approval of the payments prior to currency cut off time. The team adheres to the Global Funds Transfer and Firm-Owned Bank Accounts Policy and ISG Operations & Global Banking Operations Division Wide Procedure Free Cash Payment Authorization Policy for all payment processing. The team processes multiple time critical instructions throughout the day, delivering a ?follow-the-sun? operating model. The team environment is dynamic, requiring members to adopt a flexible approach to ensure work flow is diligently managed and client service expectations are always met. Primary Responsibilities ? Leading an operational team supporting authorization of STP and non STP (straight through processing) payments for multiple clients across various products line ? Managing team members, their performance and career development; ? Exercising due diligence checks on all payment requests ? Timely and diligent review and processing of payment exceptions ? Providing a critical escalation point for payment processing issues for internal clients and external counterparties ? Ensuring time sensitive cash payments are processed in a timely manner ? Supporting the initiation and authorization of non STP (straight through processing) payments for multiple clients across various products line; ? At all times act as a process owner, accountable for the delivery of work to the highest of standards ? Identifying opportunities for process improvement and enhanced risk control This is an exciting role which will allow the candidate to acquire a unique understanding of how Morgan Stanley manages payment processing risk and delivers service excellence to our clients.
