About this role The position is responsible for management and coordination of day-to-day operations for our 24×7 Global Network Operations Center(NOC). This individual will drive the strategic roadmap to advance the team charter in order to develop a next-generation NOC capability here at Gartner. What youll do Supervise the day to day operations of our 24×7 Global Network Operations Center that is supporting our business critical applications as well as our hybrid & cloud infrastructure. Ensure the NOC is effectively integrated and leveraged within our enterprise-wide Event, Incident, and Problem Management processes. Collaborate to continuously improve the NOC processes and procedures. Oversee the IT Major Incident Management process, ensuring that the IT organization is taking appropriate and timely action for any Major incidents. Ensure the appropriate standard operating procedures are being created, leveraged and maintained Serve as a point of escalation for the NOC team during Major Incident Management Work with key infrastructure and application leaders to develop/refine a robust and repeatable onboarding process positioned to further extend the NOCs umbrella of coverage Effectively communicate Major Incident status and RCA reports to leadership and stakeholders Ensure NOC is providing consistent and timely L1 support of our Enterprise Monitoring Tools Provide resource management and shift coverage scheduling Advance organizational value of NOC by increasing first touch resolution rates and driving a more business-oriented focus for the NOC core service offering. Hire, mentor, manage, and develop NOC members to ensure they are delivering consistent and reliable support while providing them growth opportunities Collect and report relevant KPIs that clearly show value and progression of the NOC service offering What youll need Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience 10 years of information technology experience, with 3 years in a relevant Network Operations Center management role or similar position. This is a leadership position that will help Gartner to drive forward the vision of how the NOC can be leveraged across Gartner IT in a manner consistent with the desires of senior IT leadership. Internal relationships with other teams within ITIO, Apps Dev, BU teams, and external relationships with IT vendors and service providers. In-depth understanding of Event, Incident, and Problem Management processes Experienced in leveraging ITIL framework and ITSM tools (ServiceNow, Remedy, HP Service Manager) Experienced with Network & Telecom operations management Understanding of Windows Server and Linux Operating Systems Administration Familiar with a wide array of IT monitoring tools (Solarwinds, SCOM, Datadog, Pingdom, etc) Basic familiarity of Cloud Platforms and technologies is desired Excellent coaching and mentoring skills Ability to work independently with a strong sense of initiative and drive Ability to effectively interact with staff at all levels Excellent verbal & written communication Who you are Passionate about open source technologies, self-learner who keeps abreast with latest developments.
