Skill: msds , safety , hygiene , manufacturing , first aid , pollution control , chemical engineering , root cause analysis , ehs , planning , supervisor , incident reporting , safety awareness , effluent treatment , pcb , hazard; Exp: 5-10 years; Job Context Establishing and implement EHS policies and procedures and SOPs, including Crisis Management Plan and Evacuation Plans and ensure Safety of the facility. Challenges Ensuring zero incident reporting. Communicate and liaise with statutory bodies and compliance with their requirements. Flexible and preparedness to address any emergency situations and incidents. Establishing and implement corporate EHS policy and standard operating procedures. Update, write and establish new EHS policies and procedures, including Crisis Management Plan and Evacuation Plans. As a Member of Institutional Biosafety Committee, ensuring the policies and procedures are followed as per Recombinant DNA Biosafety Guidelines. Thereby conducting periodic IBSC review meetings and sending the reports to Pollution Control Board and Department of Biotechnology, New Delhi. Implement radioactive safety standards. Implemented a perfect Chemical Hygiene Plan across the company. Actively involved in investigation of accidents / incidents and take adequate steps in avoiding them. Preparation of Risk Analysis and control in Medicinal Chemistry, Biology and Radioactive laboratories as per the different operations involved and educating the employees to avoid risks during process reactions. Update and write new Safety and/or Risk Analysis procedures. Involve entire workforce on MSDS implementation and other compliance requirements. Ensure that all safety equipments present are periodically maintained and record the same in coordination with Administration Department. Implement Hazardous Waste Disposal practices as per statutory requirements like Hazardous waste, biomedical waste and Effluent treatment. Following laboratory waste management practices etc. and implement the process of Quenching of unused chemicals / metals / Compounds. Operational responsibilities Participate in various International Client Safety Audits. Perform periodic Internal Auditing and ensure the safety policies are strictly adhered. Identification of training needs analysis in coordination with Human Resource Department. Involve in ISMS 27001 internal and external auditing process. Conduct periodic training in Laboratory Safety, Emergency Preparedness (Fire Fighting, First Aid, and Crisis Management Plan) and Laboratory Emergency Preparedness etc. Encourage employees and provide safety awareness amongst them. Perform mock drills as per Factories act and ISO 27001 policies. Conduct periodic safety committee meetings, preparation of minutes of meeting, coordinating with the management, other departments and employees for improvement, and periodically review the safety policies and ensure accident free zone inside the organization. Organize, implement and facilitate new hire orientation programs as per company policy. Coordinate, communicate, liaise with statutory authorities and ensure compliance to the statutory requirements. 4, KEY INTERFACES External Interfaces Internal Interfaces PCB, Government bodies related to EHS, Vendors and clients. Education Qualification(Highest ) with Target Institute(s) Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent AND MANDATORY to have Diploma in Industrial Safety from State Board of Technical Education Desired Certifications NEBOSH Experience Range 5- 10 years No. of years post Highest Qualification 5- 10 years Desirable experience Strong expertise in EHS policies and procedures, including Crisis Management Plan and Evacuation Plans. Experience in a drug discovery industry/ CRO environment. Experience in OSHA Compliance, Injury and Illness Case Management, Root Cause Analysis, Accident/Incident Investigation.
