This role ensures that all financial transactions are appropriately recorded and substantiated to reflect the true and fair position as per the defined RBS policies / procedures and guidelines for RBS by GFS What the Business Does The Role is in S&F Financial Control, India Finance Services and reports to Team Lead of S&F Financial Control Your Responsibilities As Financial Control Associate your key responsibilities will be Undertake reconciliations, accounting, MI & control activities to support ledger close, reconciliation, substantiation and reporting Responsible for supporting change initiatives, process improvements and in system implementations related to own processes and applications Provide and support input into the end to end control and ownership of franchise and legal entity balance sheets for the area supported, Fixed Assets accounting, Project accounting and reporting, Legal entity recharge accounting including full substantiation and reconciliation of the balance sheet and profit & loss accounts within a controlled framework Responsible for first level investigation of process/ system issues Undertake activities assigned on timely basis and highlight any process improvement opportunity Responsible for troubleshooting queries Identify process improvement ideas and share idea with reviewer/ lead Ensure that all reports / outputs relating to reconciliations are produced on time and are of high quality Develop process maps, identifying critical paths in order create a plan and drive acceleration of the disclosure reporting process Proactive identification and effective management and/or escalation of conduct risk to deliver key customer outcomes. The skills you will need CA / ICWA / MBA Finance, IFRS certification is desirable with minimum 5-7 years experience in a Financial Services environment Experience of delivery of core financial control and reporting outputs, including ledger close, balance sheet substantiation, statutory and management reporting and external audit Knowledge of IFRS Accounting Standard Understanding of inter-company and contra account usage requirements and intercompany reconciliations and substantiation Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, including strong Excel skills . Knowledge of Walker/SAP/INEA/Khalix Ability to capture trends of Journals posted / reconciliations undertaken / budget MI released Understand accounting impact of activity undertaken and highlight any process issue / gap to reviewer Why RBS?
