Skill: charts , variance analysis , cima , advanced excel , reporting , ca , cfa , management reports , hyperion reporting , finance; Exp: 8-11 years; Description Job Title Assistant VP Location Chennai Grade AVP This role is instrumental in supporting Central BP&A to deliver a best-in-class MI and Analysis around Barclays Business Units. Responsible for enhancing existing processes, reporting and controls whilst ensuring the flawless execution of BAU. Driving through efficiencies and process improvements standardising processes across SBUs where possible Your Role Production of the local and BU monthly reporting including provision of supporting analysis and insight into key performance drivers, business risks and opportunities and decision support to senior management. Preparation of variance analysis; ensuring a sufficient level of understanding of the key issues driving financial performance Provide support and financial output to the wider BP&A team and finance community with respect to forecast data Engage with the businesses and functional teams to co-ordinate, review and challenge their inputs (financial, non-financial) for the preparation of regular and ad-hoc business plans Provide insightful analysis and written commentary of agreed coverage areas demonstrating keen understanding of key drivers, KPIs and underlying business performance Build/maintain financial models and scenario analysis to support senior management decision making Types of insight and analyses delivered will include interpretation and explanation of future plans, and review of robustness of forecasts and plans with reference to trends and underlying drivers Own and be responsible for queries raised on all output/deliverables Work with huge data set and convert the same into informative and presentable management reports using various advanced excel and PowerPoint tools (e.g. bar charts / bubble graphs/waterfall charts) Maintain strong engagement lines both upstream and downstream in business to ensure jobholders stays updated on key developments in business on a real-time basis. This will involve developing communication channels with senior business stakeholder as well as influencing and driving other departments to deliver accurately and timely manner. Supporting ad-hoc requests ensuring that we meet high standards to provide a timely response to all queries Ensure strong processes are in place with strong control environment, adhered timeline in order to deliver accurate information in a timely manner and to the highest standards, allowing time for review by line manager and finance management Essential Skills Personal attributes essential to performing role including competencies, expertise, knowledge, and experience. Advanced Excel and powerpoint skills Experience in Hyperion reporting tools is a plus Ability to play with huge data sets and perform analysis Ability to understand macro-economic environment, industry wide developments and local organizational strategy Strong control mind-set. Willingness and ability to take ownership of issues and manage through to a successful resolution. Strong interpersonal skills and excellent communicator.
