The Information and Analytics team is responsible for building data, data science and analytics as a core capability to help the business become data intelligent and drive business and organization performance. The team will deliver advanced analytics products at scale and work closely with the market teams to ensure that decisions in Unilever are augmented with insights & recommendations wherever possible. There are five major themes to the Information and Analytics strategy Deliver Intelligent systems at scale. Powering Business (cross functional) and Customer Development area through data and analytics. Continued excellence in delivery of diagnostics and insights to focus attention when and where it matters with a focus on Big Bets, Strategic Initiatives and Leadership team reporting This is an exciting new role in the RTM Advanced Analytics Product Group in Information & Analytics, which is tasked to deliver maximum value from data to drive business and organization performance in Customer development space. The ETS I&A product team helps create globally relevant products for business areas which are a need across the globe. The global product definition is right-sized to specific markets ambition to make the use-case relevant and current. This role has close engagement with Global RTM and in-market COEs to enable markets win with data, data science, and analytics for both large transformation programs and near-term business problems. The ETS I&A Product team is composed of Product Leaders, Analytics Managers, data scientists, and data experts who can quickly understand the business context problem, apply advanced mathematics and/or statistics to large data sets; and operate in cloud based environments where data, models, and user interfaces reside in the same platforms-core technologies. Main Purpose of the Job Owns the design and delivery of analytics products right from hypothesis forming, functional & non-functional requirements, vendor identification & finalization to delivery. Owns the activation of proven analytics modules from larger global product vision for markets, including analytics use case customization, platform-based industrialization and landing. Partners with market teams for business engagement, roadmap alignment & finalization, business value articulation, identification of right data sources (including external data), enable integration to local systems for data sourcing as well as for consumption layer, understand audience profile and technology ecosystem to make right platform choices. Lead business value measurement exercise working closely with I&A markets teams as well as business stakeholders. Specifically, this role will focus on developing an advanced analytics module and then scaling them to markets, solving global problems with local flavour-e.g. POS data analytics to drive better retail offtake. This will require deep understanding of analytics models as well as technology platforms to rapidly iterate, pilot and then lift and shift current models and build new ones to plug the gaps in local needs. Key accountabilities Serve as the trusted data and analytics consultant for key CD leaders who provides products solutions that rapidly solve for business issues Own the product module roadmap Own delivery of the budget (ensure no over-underspends) Own the change management (ways of working in the market partnering with COE and CD leaders) required to ensure landing of I&A products Accountable for innovating at least 1-2 new data and analytic methodologies driven by local needs which feed into I&As global product pipeline Relevant Experience M.B.A. in a relevant field (Business Analytics, Operations Research), or PhD, M.S. in a relevant technical field (Operations Research, Computer Science, Statistics, Business Analytics, Econometrics, or Mathematics) Overall experience of 6-10 years preferred Strong track record of working with senior business leadership (VPs ) to drive definition, alignment, and support for application of analytics and data to address complex business issues (e.g. centralization of promotion spending decisions) Ability to convert business requirements into sharp analytics briefs to enable request for proposal, identify right partners to work with and make choice of partner basis stringent technology and business parameters. Ability to drive multiple internal and external stakeholder connects while holding relevant teams accountable for commitments Ability to rapidly connect match analytics and data products to business needs Ability to troubleshoot problems with agility working with multiple stakeholders Expert knowledge in statistics (Regression, Clustering, Random Forrest, Decision Trees, Optimization, Time Series, Probability, and other related advanced methodologies) Working knowledge of an analysis tool such as Angoss, KNIME, Spotfire, Microsoft PowerBI, Tableau Working knowledge and basic skills to code in R, R Shiny, and Microsoft Azure Machine Learning Working knowledge to apply Microsoft Azure and Cortana to deploy scaled analytics models in the cloud Ability to manage multiple requests and priorities simultaneously in a highly VUCA and competitive market Passion for empirical research and for answering hard questions with data Ability to apply an agile analytic approach that allows for results at varying levels of precision Ability to communicate complex quantitative insights in a precise and actionable manner
