So whether a consumer or business makes calls, video conferencing with clients, sharing files, downloading music, streaming movies, or online shopping, the traffic gets carries on the Openreach Network. The Openreach Delivery hub manages all the IT delivery for Openreach, managing the workstack from concept through to delivery into live, operational support and customer testing. Within the hub a key aspect is the E2E test function which tests and assures the IT deliveries before releasing to openreach customers. The openreach test team is focusing on test automation and insourcing technical skills into the team to further drive the test strategy and automation. The role holder is responsible for providing test analysis, test design and execution of test for Openreach E2E functional test, under the guidance of his/her manager. He/she provides support in the preparation of test design and test processes. The role holder provides assistance in meeting Openreach E2E test objectives, solving operational problems by applying industry, applications and technical knowledge The role holder should leverage the experience of the relevant BT wide professional communities to discharge these responsibilities, thus ensuring knowledge sharing extends beyond the functional boundary of the role. The role holder may also play a key part in the BT wide professional communities The role holder is responsible for an area of testing that would be typically defined and would be accountable for all test case creation, diagnostics of defects, and test data strategy for their scope What you’ll be doing Participate in CFT discussions to understand and review high-level/low-level solution & component design from test perspective Support in analysis of requirements & solution design and prepare test design to ensure optimal test coverage Support in preparation of test plan based on the test design and analysis Write test specifications and test designs (scripts) and running the test scripts to time cost and quality Responsible for the testing quality via interpretation of the design documentation to establish the design script Execute testing as per the test plan and report the outcome of test Manage resolution of defects/issues identified in test with support from other relevant teams (components, design, environment, etc.) Support in transition of test activities into BT, where required Support in optimising the test plan leveraging Openreach product/domain knowledge and test techniques Contribute to knowledge management activities through development of artefacts Contribute to enhancing the processes to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of test function. Progress report ensure that all appropriate reports (daily, weekly summary and wiki) are kept updated with progress Exploit the test tools (e.g. HPQC, SPLUNK, QTP, etc.) to fully utilize them in delivering effective test Contribute in development and utilisation of automation in test Liaise with internal, external and third party suppliers where required. Reduce ongoing occurrences of defects in production environments. Fully conversant with test management, diagnostics and have knowledge of automation or another specialism. To personally participate in and contribute to BT wide professional community activities where applicable e.g. knowledge sharing, best practice within BT and external industry. To use the relevant BT wide professional community framework to raise their skills and those of their team to the recommended PC standards. Decide on the defect source (in terms of its trigger) and its detection We’ll also need to see these on your CV Qualifications Have a degree qualification (engineering/science) ISTQB foundation or equivalent (for e.g. Bronze ALP Certification in BT) Skills/Experience Expertise in using HP UFT/Selenium/Appium Expertise in devising frameworks for UFT Expertise in automating testing for telecom domain. Exposure/experience in various test methodologies (e.g. Risk Based Testing) Exposure/experience in open-source test tools (e.g microservices, test automatiom) Experience in Java development is advantageous Why choose us?
