The Integrated Marine Ecosystem Management (IMEM) Program is a three-year program implemented in the Dominican Republic that aims to improve the management and conservation of marine ecosystems on the Northern coast of Haiti and the Dominican Republic meanwhile minimizing economic and cultural disruption to the communities that depend on those ecosystems.

This is a short-term technical assistance consultancy (STTA) based out of Counterpart International’s office in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. The position will be responsible for providing financial and administrative assistance to the overall implementation of the IMEM Program and will report to the Program Manager, Marlig Desiree Perez Marte.

Counterpart International is seeking a Senior Finance and Administration consultant to provide part time support to the office in Santo Domingo from January 2020- May 2020 estimated at 100 days. It is expected for the consultant to work at least 20 hours a week in the office on the following tasks:

+ Coordinate and review the subgrantee vouchers and monthly financial reports

+ Create and submit the monthly cash advance request for the office

+ Prepare financial reports to submit to Counterpart HQ

+ Liaise with service providers for the Counterpart office and paying all bills on time

+ Prepare all payments including coordinating and combining the following documents:

+ Oversee banking operations including submission of monthly bank statement to HQ

+ Supporting the Program Manger with coordination and logistics of activities and events

+ Other administrative support as needed by Program Manager

+ Oversight and management of the Office’s Quick Books financial accounts

+ Minimum of three (3) years of work in financial operating systems

+ Minimum of two (2) years’ experience working with Quick Books accounting system

+ Previous office and administrative support in an office setting

+ Demonstrated experience with conducting training, or other capacity building skills;

+ A high level of interpersonal and communication skills;

+ Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment

+ Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Word, Database management, Excel, PowerPoint);

+ Proficiency in English preferred, not required
