Ensure Centerra operations adhere to the goals and policies of the Environmental Management System, the Installation Energy Plan, and other specified Sustainability requirements affecting this contract. The Environmental/Energy Manager shall develop, implement and monitor environmental strategies, policies and programs that promote sustainable development and examine the contract activities to establish where improvements can be made and ensure compliance with environmental legislation and energy policy.
MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:
The primary job duties and responsibilities for this position are:
+ Monitor and update Utility Performance Report.
+ Perform technology energy opportunity assessments.
+ Perform specific site/system energy analyses.
+ Periodically explore new energy technology applications and their viability.
+ Conduct environmentally beneficial studies and applications.
+ Investigate root causes of environmental problems and recommend solutions.
+ Investigate/implement means of resale of used materials including scrap metals, tires and waste oil.
+ Investigate root causes of facility system failures and recommend solutions.
+ Provide or facilitate training of technical personnel.
+ Evaluate operational processes to develop system improvement and increased effectiveness.
+ Other duties as assigned.
MATERIALS & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED:
+ Computer with MAXIMO CMMS.
+ Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in the environmental/energy field.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT/ PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:
A combination of office and field environments. Ability to interact with foreign nationals at both the trade and professional levels. Tropical environment.
The Environmental/Energy Manager shall have a minimum two years’ experience with environmental procedures similar to those of this contract; familiarity with Environmental Management Systems (EMSs); and knowledge of environmental regulations and federal energy laws and policy (including energy and water reduction requirements and renewable energy requirements) that are applicable to operations similar to those of this contract.
+ 2-5 years’ Supervisory experience in an environmental/energy related field.
+ Working familiarity with root cause analysis techniques.
+ Working familiarity with energy project analyses and documentation.
+ Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral format.
+ Demonstrated leadership experience in organizing and leading teams.
+ Military leadership experience strongly preferred.
