Overview
POSITION SUMMARY:
Assists in performing a variety of electrical trade functions such as the installation, maintenance, or repair of equipment for
the generation, distribution, or utilization of electric energy.
Responsibilities
MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:
1. Installs or repairs any of a variety of electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers,
circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, or other transmission equipment.
2. Working from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications, locates and diagnoses trouble in the electrical
system or equipment.
3. Works standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment.
4. Performs other duties and assignments as required.
MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED:
Various hand tools, schematics, test and diagnostic equipment.
Elevated platforms including but not limited to 120ft
Electrical PPE such as ARC Flash suits and rubber protective gear
Ladders
Hand and power tools
Test equipment
WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:
Requires working both indoors and outdoors in addition to working inside an office.
Able to maneuver in small spaces
Operates motor vehicles
Elevated platforms including but not limited to 120ft
Electrical PPE such as ARC Flash suits and rubber protective gear
Ladders

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Three years related work experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
The work of the electrician requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal
apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.
Licensed as a Journeyman Electrician, military or Home Country Certified
Knowledge of NEC, NESC, IEEE, and ANSI standards, must be trained and certified per NAVFAC MO-200.
Must possess a drivers license with at least 6 months of remaining validity.
Must be able to lift 50lbs.
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of experience as an electrician.
Skills:
General knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in the electrical trade.
Must have excellent communication skills in English, both written and oral.
Able to read and interpret Work Orders, parts requests, drawings/schematics/blueprints and manuals in order to
accomplish assigned duties.
Requires a collaborative work style, fostering cooperation, and teamwork.
