Network Systems Engineer will provide support to the Naval Station Guantanamo Bay Base Information Transport (GBIT) Command, Control, Computer, Communications, and Intelligence (C4I) for real-world operations and exercises onboard U.S. Naval Station (NAVSTA), Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, its tenant commands and other Department of Defense and U.S. Government agencies. This includes Joint Task Force Guantanamo?s Terrorist Detainment Operations, Office of Military Commissions and the Department of Homeland Security?s Migrant Operations. GBIT communications/connectivity requires Tier 2-4 support as well as Information Assurance (IA) execution support at NCTAMS LANT Detachment Guantanamo Bay, Cuba (NCTL DET GTMO). Provides support for configuration management and accreditation of systems. Frequently develops, reviews, or updates documentation. Travel may be required. (5%)
+ Provide technical support with resolving Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) transport networking issues across the entire system equipment string.
+ Provide technical support of implementing authorized Information Assurance (IA) initiatives. Develop system architecture documents addressing systems and network infrastructure requirements.
+ Assist the customer with the validation and execution of disaster recovery and system restoral procedures, rapid response for emergent issues and network documentation and training as required.
+ Provide on-site engineering and technical support for the integration of Information Technology (IT) hardware and software upgrades at NCTL DET GTMO.
+ Candidate must be capable of working independently with little or no supervision in a high operations tempo environment.
MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED:
Navy classified and unclassified networks. Hardware/software to include but not limited to Cisco ASR routers and ASA Firewalls, Cisco Evolved Programmable Network (EPN) Manager, switches, Windows servers and workstations.
Candidate will work on-site at Naval Station Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Work will be in computer facilities at NCTL DET GTMO. In order to provide required service to customer base, work at times other than normal work week hours will be required to participate in meetings, troubleshooting efforts, and installations.
One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
Associate?s Degree in Computer Technology or an Associate?s Degree in Network Systems Administration. Associate?s degree may be substituted with four (4) years of Tier III maintenance experience with Navy ship to shore networks or relevant DoD tactical network architectures.
+ Two (2) years of direct experience with Tier III maintenance of Navy Consolidated Afloat Networks Enterprise Services (CANES) or Navy Integrated Shipboard Network System (ISNS) or two (2) years of direct experience with Tier III maintenance of Navy ONE NET.
+ Working knowledge of Navy Network Operations Centers (NOCs) and/or Maritime Operations Centers (MOC) or equivalent DoD network operation centers. Systems level engineering expertise to support the scope of requirements in subparagraphs 5.1, 5.2, 5.3, 5.4 and 5.5.
+ Deployable to support Navy operational requirements, exercise support and other projects to meet the needs of the Navy.

Security Clearance: Adjudicated SECRET (Tier 3) clearance within the past six (6) years. Possible requirement to upgrade clearance level to TOP SECRET.
+ Must be able to communicate well both orally and in writing.
+ Must be able to communicate well with senior Navy officials and technical personnel.
+ Must be able to provide OJT to technical personnel and modify technical documentation, SOPs, baseline documentation (drawings, topologies, etc.) and other systems engineering documents.
+ Must be able to use tools to develop architecture diagrams and prepare or support brief preparation under direction from the network lead.
