We are currently looking for a Lab Technician to join the Main Production team during the late shift (1pm-10pm). Joining the main production lab means that you have the opportunity to witness and be responsible for the birth of our DNA and RNA oligos, guide them through the entire production process and finally deliver an oligo of the highest quality of which you, the company and the customer can be proud of.

During a six month on the job training you will get to know the different production steps: from synthesis to purification (HPLC) and processing of the oligo (analyzing QC samples etc.). Each step requires other skills and therefore we give our lab technicians the opportunity to get involved in every phase by a weekly rotating schedule.

Ideally we are looking for a candidate holding a Bachelor’s degree in a science related field. Having an eye for detail and following procedures is essential since you will be working under the ISO-9001 and ISO-13485 quality standard. Planning, efficient multitasking, respecting deadlines and most of all teamwork are very important assets for this job. Are you fluent in English and a punctual person? Are you eager to work in a growing company along with young and friendly colleagues? Then you might just be the candidate we are looking for.

Responsibilities

+ Perform the synthesis, cleavage from the solid support, deprotection, desalting, purification, quantification, QC sampling and final processing of oligonucleotides.

+ Operate DNA/RNA synthesizers, HPLC’s and other instruments in the lab that are needed to complete the tasks listed above.

+ Assist in the processing and documentation of all orders and projects.

+ Perform calibration on designated equipment as scheduled or requested.

+ Keep all the reagent bottles, pressurized gas cylinders and manifold liquid systems at levels to achieve successful operation.

+ Change waste containers and dispose of waste material.

+ Perform all necessary decontamination procedures.

+ Appropriately document all aspects of production.

+ Fill out all required checklists and perform verification for others when necessary.

+ Assist the shipping and customer service departments with specific oligo related questions.

+ Take finished product to the shipping department.

Job Qualifications

+ Preferably a Bachelor’s degree in a science related field or equivalent job experience.

+ Good computer skills which include knowledge of Internet, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.

+ Ability to be on feet a few hours at a time.

+ Ability to adapt to changes in the process.

+ Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.

+ Ability to multi-task.

+ Interact in a professional manner with customers, associates and all levels of management.

+ Ability to work in a group or independently.

+ Read, write and speak English fluently. Knowledge of Dutch is a big plus.
