The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra) is the national agency responsible for administering the National Registration and Accreditation Scheme (National Scheme) in partnership with 15 National Boards for the regulated health professions. Ahpra's overall purpose is to protect the public by regulating health practitioners efficiently and effectively to facilitate access to safer healthcare for Australians.
The TerritoryManager, ACT is responsible for leading engagement and partnerships with stakeholders in line with their national goals. The role provides an 'on the ground' senior presence for Ahpra to ensure their services are responsive to local needs and consistent with national policy and performance requirements. The role works as part of a single network, supporting a whole of organisation approach to the delivery of Ahpra's strategic priorities.
This will require you to:
Build and manage effective communication and relationships with key stakeholders, including community and professional associations, ACT and Commonwealth boards & committees, employers, health services, ACT and Federal government departmentsProactively identify and manage any risks and/or issues at the territory level that will impact the delivery of the expected performance levelsProvide leadership for an integrated approach for all staff to build a safe, positive, engaging and inclusive workplace cultureContribute operational and other insights into the ongoing development of national policies, programs and service delivery improvementsYou will require significant leadership experience in a health, service delivery or regulatory context with a demonstrated ability to apply legislative, policy and procedural requirements as they relate to a regulatory environment. This will be supported by relevant tertiary qualifications with prior experience in managing cross functional teams and the ability to influence indirect reports to support a high performing and positive workplace culture. Project management skills highly desirable.
