**Job summary**

The Red Hat Sales team is looking for a Senior Specialist Solutions Architect to join us in Melbourne, Australia. In this role, you will lead the growth and development of Red Hat’s solutions in Australia and New Zealand (ANZ). You’ll discover and analyze our customers’ business and technical needs and collaborate with the sales and technical delivery teams to help customers invest wisely in the most appropriate solutions from the Red Hat Cloud Infrastructure portfolio, including Red Hat OpenShift and Red Hat OpenStack Platform, Red Hat Virtualization, Red Hat Storage solutions and Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform. As a Senior Specialist Solutions Architect, you’ll need to have excellent communication and people skills, as you’ll be a crucial part of the first in-depth experience our customers have with Red Hat. You will listen to customer business and technical challenges and suggest various solution paths customized to each customer’s unique circumstances. You will also build solutions during the presales phase and prove their feasibility and value to the customers through demonstrations of and proofs of concepts for our offerings. You will exercise judgement within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate actions to take and you’ll be responsible for effectively managing your time.

**Primary job responsibilities**

+ Provide presales technical support to the ANZ Sales team and build quality technical proposals that will address customer business problems

+ Use your deep knowledge of our offerings to provide technical expertise to sales associates and customers through workshops, sales presentations, and demonstrations of our offerings across the Red Hat Cloud Infrastructure portfolio

+ Communicate value, progress, and status of sales opportunities to all stakeholders; share knowledge and findings to allow team members to learn from your successes and mistakes

+ Ensure that evenue quota, deployment, and service objectives are met while maintaining a high level of satisfaction among prospective and existing customers

+ Research and write responses to technical sections of requests for information (RFIs) and requests for proposal (RFPs)

+ Actively participate in Red Hat’s internal communities of practice (CoPs) and lead internal knowledge sharing in the cloud Infrastructure portfolio

+ Speak at events and technical forums to everyone from CIOs to user groups about Red Hat’s technologies

+ Learn about new technologies and how they can be applied to solve enterprise challenges

**Required skills**

+ 5+ years of experience working as a sales engineer, consultant, IT architect, or equivalent supporting enterprise accounts

+ Excellent communication and presentation skills

+ Record of developing relationships at engineering, commercial, and executive levels throughout large enterprise IT organizations

+ Understanding of complex enterprise solutions and architectures

+ Real-world experience designing, deploying, or operating Kubernetes platforms, on-premise and in the cloud

+ Excellent knowledge of UNIX and Linux systems, preferably in Red Hat’s platform solutions

+ Solid knowledge of virtualization platforms like Red Hat Virtualization, KVM, VMware, and Microsoft Hyper-V

+ Understanding of modern methodologies like agile development and DevOps and related capabilities like automation, orchestration, and configuration management

+ Balance of technical expertise, passion for open source, and of thorough understanding of business processes and IT problems faced at the enterprise level

+ Proficiency in programming languages like Ruby, Python, Perl, and Java is a plus

+ Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA), Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), VMware Certified Professional (VCP), or Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) certifications are a plus
