**Senior OHW Engineer (Rail)**

**About the opportunity**
A new opportunity exists for a Senior Rail OHW Engineer based in our Sydney office. Reporting to the Rail – Section Leader, this role will provide both project leadership and technical leadership across a variety of complex projects. The purpose of this role is to provide senior level overhead wiring design skills, working collaboratively with other members of the OHW team. This position will support all technical elements associated with the delivery of OHW across DC and AC systems in the region and provide tender support across bids and other marketing activities to external and internal clients.
Key responsibilities include:
+ Provide input OHW rail designs, for transport infrastructure projects as well as specialist support for multi-disciplinary projects.
+ Act as a senior engineer in the OHW space and provides assistance to the development of drawings in accordance with relevant ASA and Australian Standards.
+ Lead OHW contributions with tendering opportunities.
+ Identify and communicate design issues and concerns with any timing issues with the design to the appropriate project representative/Design Manager.
The successful candidate should have:
+ Bachelor of Engineering degree (or approved equivalent)
+ Chartered Professional Engineer (desirable)
+ Eligibility through recognised experience to obtain Rail Safety Worker accreditation.
+ Previous work experience in overhead wiring design spanning AC and DC systems, covering OHW adjustments for plain line and turnouts, new wire runs, upgrade of systems and construction staging.
+ Sydney Trains 1500V DC OHW experience (mandatory).
+ 25kV AC OHW experience (desirable).
+ Advanced drafting skills using microstation and or Autocad
+ Experience working in a team environment
+ Good verbal and written communication skills
+ A basic understanding of HSEC requirements and industry approaches
+ Demonstrated ability to undertake field work
+ A current driver’s licence
+ Current RISI and OH&S white card
