Role Summary:You will have an overall responsibility for the accuracy of projects actual and committed costs. Overlooking all projects, the lead finance will have the opportunity to draw lessons learnt across each project to supporting cost controllers to ensure the complete project scope is managed against the current budget, management of change and cost estimate, controlling and mitigating cost risks to execute within budgets.

Essential Responsibilities:

+ Support the project teams and cost controllers to maintain and update forecasting and transaction controls

+ Ensure adequacy of sub-contractor’s cost control systems, methods and procedures for monitoring, analysis, forecasting and controlling sub-contractor, project capital and expense costs

+ Provide accurate and timely information and analysis on the periodic project reporting functions in compliance with company procedures and policies and budgets.

+ Provide ERP data for Actual cost incurred + PO Commitment (RACES/ Unifier) to Cost controller in EAC format.

+ Preparation, consolidation and analysis of actuals and committed costs in EAC template, including reconciliation of ERP actuals and committed costs to have a full knowledge of financial movements vs prior periods.

+ Review actual costs to ensure accuracy and implement corrections alongside IT team, project team and finance manager.

+ Have a strong understanding of how financial process are mapped and different ERPs operates and intertwine to be able to interpret project actuals.

+ Assist project cost controller to review costs at completion to ensure they are aligned with project assumptions.

+ Review Project Financial summaries (EAC, cash curve, billing plans) for consolidated Project Review, with significant input from Project Manager/ Cost controller.

+ Providing insight of project financials and understanding of each partner’s financial movements.

+ Review of trends across variance project to identify optional risk earlier and apply project lesson learnt.

+ Consolidation of project cash inflow and outflow projections.

+ Ensuring accuracy of cash curve and billing plans.

+ Consolidation of project financials for reporting and planning purposes.

+ Connect and coordinate with financial interfaces: Finance Partners, Controllership, FP&A, internal and external auditors

+ Overall responsibility for rolled up program level Cost reporting

+ Guide and develop junior cost controllers, where applicable

+ Promote excellence in Health, Safety and Environment & build EHS culture through the role


+ Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or other business-related field OR Higher education in project management (e.g. PMP certification)/ business management (desirable but not essential)

+ Minimum 8 years project accounting experience

CPA (Chartered Professional Accountant) / CA (Chartered Accountant) Qualification

+ Demonstrated ability to interpret and analyze project estimates and costs, assess progress, provide forecasts, and advise estimate at complete.

+ Ability to recognize and administrate Project management of change needs with GE’s Sub Contractors and also with the GE client contract.

+ Ability to work in a diverse cultural team environment; be able to work unsupervised; accept responsibility and act on directives.

+ Ability to liaise across different disciplines within Onshore Wind is essential as is the capacity to interact with executive level management from Onshore Wind and other external stakeholders.

+ Demonstrated ability to deliver good quality work with high levels of accuracy.
