**About the opportunity**
Our Transport group employs more than 8,000 professionals who support clients with innovative solutions to efficiently move people and goods across the globe. We focus our efforts in Aviation, Bridge, Highway, Ports & Maritime, Planning Services, Transit & Rail and Tunnels.
An opportunity now exists for a Principal Structural Engineer to join our Transport team in our Adelaide office. Reporting to the Section Leader, the purpose of this role is to provide leadership in structural engineering projects in Adelaide and interstate. The principal structural engineer coordinates a team of structural engineers and drafters across a portfolio of projects to deliver innovative, quality solutions and deliverables for our clients.
The successful candidate should be versed in applying judgement and initiative in the application of engineering principles, techniques, and prescribed methods of engineering analysis, design and computation.
The skills required for this role are:
+ Relevant engineering degree
+ Practical site experience of building/engineering and the impact of design decisions
+ Relevant post graduate experience
+ Competent user of SpaceGass, Microstrand, Lusas, Midas or equivalent analysis software and Revit understanding
+ Creative problem solver
+ Strong analytical and logical thinking skills
+ Good organisational skills and attention to detail
+ Demonstrates leadership and commitment to achieve group objectives
