Job Summary

Amentum has an exciting new opportunity for an experienced Operations Manager to be part of the Vesta team in Alice Springs to oversee the maintenance, logistics and property & leasing operations of the business.

This key position will be based in Alice Springs and supports a facility staffed with multi-national civilian, military, and contractor personnel. This position provides the opportunity to drive a high-performing team to generate solutions, deliver reliable services, and resolve problems to demonstrate superior customer service.

As the Operations Manager in Vesta’s team you will be responsible for the management of day to day operational issues, safety and compliance, human resources, weekly and monthly reporting and operational budgeting. Communication and your ability to build relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders will be key to your success in this role.

Your new role responsibilities include:

+ Coordination with, and close working relationships with, the Vesta management team

+ Daily problem solving on all operational matters across the program including maintenance, logistics and property & leasing

+ Working closely with the Amentum HR team to identify learning, development & improvement activities and recruitment & selection activities

+ On-boarding of new employees

+ Continual improvement and implementation of business strategies and processes

+ Responsibility for safety and compliance across the program

+ Weekly and monthly reporting to the Program Manager and client

+ Working as part of a dynamic team and leading by example

+ Assisting in other areas of the business as required

+ Ability to adapt to changing priorities and a willingness to be flexible

+ Other duties as directed by the Amentum management team

Minimum Requirements

+ Current Australian unrestricted drivers’ license

+ Degree in Operations Management, and/or Business Management or relevant proven experience in a customer services related industry

+ Minimum 5 years’ experience in an operational role in the commercial hospitality /resort industry or have proven ownership experience within the building industry

+ Understanding of property management and project management principles

+ Strong people management skills – are you someone that people readily turn to for direction, inspiration and motivation?

+ Strong work ethic and ability to conduct yourself in a calm and professional manner

+ Strong IT skills, in particular the ability to pin-point work-flow opportunities and improve service and program performance through technological improvements

+ Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

+ Must possess or be able to obtain an Australian Government NV1 Security Clearance or an (U.S.) Secret Clearance
