**OHW Engineer (Rail)**

**About the opportunity**
A new opportunity exists for a Rail OHW Engineer based in our Sydney office. Reporting to the Rail – Section Leader, this role will provide both project leadership and technical leadership across a variety of complex projects. The purpose of this role is to provide overhead wiring design skills, working collaboratively with other members of the OHW team. Working under the lead OHW engineer, provide inputs to project, designs, tender bids and other marketing activities to external and internal clients. You will exercise sound judgement and initiative while undertaking both your project responsibilities and design tasks.
Key responsibilities include:
+ Provide input to concept and detailed rail OHW designs, for transport infrastructure projects as well as specialist support for multi-disciplinary projects.
+ Assist with the production of designs and provide input to the development of drawings in accordance with relevant Standards
+ Undertake tasks within deadlines/timeframes as agreed by OHW Team Leader and the Design Manager on a project
+ Identify and communicate design issues and concerns with any timing issues with the design to the OHW Team Lead/Design Manager
The successful candidate should have:
+ Bachelor of Engineering degree (or approved equivalent)
+ Chartered Professional Engineer (desirable)
+ Worked in a complex industry, either on construction/design projects, or in maintenance and operation.
+ Previous work experience in overhead wiring design, covering OHW adjustments for plain line and turnouts, new wire runs, upgrade of systems and construction staging.
+ Sydney Trains 1500V DC OHW experience.
+ 25kV AC OHW experience.
+ Experience working in a team environment.
+ Experience in client liaison.
+ Excellent communications skills.
+ A desire to achieve high quality outputs and deliver excellent service.
