This opportunity
The Transmission Network Operation Centre Engineer is responsible for ensuring a high level of service availability through effective network and customer fault management. Responsibilities will focus on delivering continuous improvement and optimal service by providing tier 1 support for all network faults and an escalation point for customer service faults. The position entails working on a 24x7 shift roster.

Monitor transmission network. Identify and Incident Manage network outages and service degradation conditions. Adhere to network fault handling processes. Customer service fault rectification: Resolve customer service faults within SLA. Adhere to fault management processes. Planned work support: Complete allocated planned work. Provisioning support: Complete allocated service provisioning tasks. Proactive network maintenance: Carry out proactive network maintenance duties. Knowledge and experience
Minimum 3 years of Telecommunications experience in similar role. Preferably experienced in NOC or Network provisioning. Hands on Network Operations, Maintenance and configuration experience essential. Relevant industry certifications, CCNA highly desired. Relevant Tertiary Qualifications. Operational understanding and experience with SDH, DWDM and WIFI Networks. Operational understanding and experience of DSL, VDSL2, HFC and ATM networks. Operational Understanding and experience of Ethernet Transmission Networks Excellent verbal and Written Communication skills are essential. Required to clearly and concisely communicate fault symptoms, give directions in network outages. Ability to learn technical and business processes from documentation. Problem solving skills, multitasking, working well under pressure and attention to detail. Benefits and perks
