Wood is seeking “Expressions of Interest” for Electrical Engineers to join the Brownfields team within the “Asset Solutions” group of the Australian Oil and Gas / LNG business.
Wood “Asset Solutions” delivers brownfields engineering, procurement, construction, optimisation and technical services to the local oil & gas sector. The Wood “AS” team has grown rapidly and enjoys long-term partnerships with some of the region’s most prominent Oil & Gas and LNG producers located in Western Australia and Darwin NT.
In this role you will be part of a busy engineering team delivering brownfields oil & gas projects within the engineering group for our various clients.

Reporting to the Electrical Engineering Manager – Asset Solutions and located centrally in our Perth CBD office, you will work to support the Engineering Business and other discipline engineers undertaking Projects and Studies for Engineering SOW and Capital Works in the Brownfield environment. The role is anticipated to be an ongoing requirement.
Drawing on your technical knowledge and problem-solving skills you will work to develop and present engineering solutions addressing outlined brownfields engineering issues and acting as an interface to multiple clients.
We are looking for someone that possesses a natural curiosity, a pro-active attitude coupled with personal integrity and a capacity for resilience in the face of change at short notice and the ability to strong stakeholder relationships.
A successful candidate will meet the following requirements:
+ Australian EPCM experience
+ Oil & Gas / LNG industry experience, ideally Onshore assets
+ Site experience, desirable
+ EPCM Engineering office experience
+ Engineering office design experience including power generation, power distribution (MV & LV), equipment specification (i.e. Power Transformers, MV & LV motors and drives, MV & LV switchgear, cabling, lighting, earthing)
+ Procurement, construction and commissioning understanding
+ Bachelor’s degree or better in Electrical Engineering
+ 4-8 years industry experience, with at least 3 years engineering & design experience.
+ Oil & Gas / LNG electrical engineering experience in Australia is a must
+ Minimum of 4 years general engineering experience in Electrical Engineering
+ Good organisational and time management skills
+ Ability to problem-solve effectively
+ Sound understanding of theoretical engineering principles
+ Effective communication skills
+ Ability to effectively work in a team
+ Attention to detail
+ Strong analytical, literacy and numerical skills
+ Well-developed computer skills and knowledge of databases, spreadsheets and engineering programs
In addition, by possessing the following will be assessed favourably:
+ Power system analysis, ETAP software
+ Hazardous area design (& inspection) competency (EEHA)
+ Strong communication and computer skills
+ A keen eye for detail and focus on quality
