**Summary:**

Facebook seeks a highly motivated and experienced team player and leader to serve as Competition Counsel to the company in Australia. Working with a talented and supportive team, this position will manage investigations and inquiries related to competition and regulatory issues – and help develop the company’s legal position and strategy on these regulatory areas in Australia, and beyond. This is an outstanding opportunity for a talented individual to join a growing competition legal team and work on cutting edge issues in an exciting, fast-paced environment.This is a full-time position located in our Sydney office and will report into the Competition team in Menlo Park, California.

**Required Skills:**

1. Represent the company in connection with competition inquiries by regulators in Australia

2. Work closely with legal, policy, and business partners in Australia and APAC region to drive successful strategies with respect to regulatory inquiries

3. Work with a cross-functional team to develop and implement long-term competition strategy

4. Help develop and execute our legal strategy in connection with review of mergers and acquisitions by antitrust regulators

5. Work on competition investigations and inquiries, merger reviews and other competition-related matters in Australia, and beyond

6. Provide teams across the company with counsel and advice on competition and related issues

7. Retain and manage outside counsel

8. Review and advise on pending and developing competition regulation and developments

**Minimum Qualifications:**

9. LLB, JD or equivalent degree and excellent academic credentials from a top law school

10. 10+ years of relevant legal experience, including at a top law firm and/or prior in-house experience with internet companies working on antitrust and other regulatory matters and/or experience at a competition regulator

11. Experience representing companies/regulators in significant antitrust inquiries including conduct investigations and merger reviews in and outside of Australia

12. First-rate experience developing innovative and pragmatic approaches to complex legal challenges with a proven track record in providing concise and business-focused legal advice

13. Excellent communication, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, ability to work well with cross-functional teams

14. Exercise excellent judgment and proven ability to provide practical solutions

15. Flexibility and eagerness to work on broad range of legal matters
